about the founder
Penny Illston
After a long and massively satisfying career in the corporate world as a People Director, I wanted to use my unique set of experiences and insights to help others make the most of their lives, individually or collectively. I firmly believe that organisations, large or small, are truly only as good as the people they are made from and I am passionate about seeing people develop and grow. I am also clear that when working with individuals, coaches and consultants must recognise and work with the whole, integrated self - the emotional, the intellectual, the physical and the spiritual.
The combination of all my experiences across the globe, in many different types of businesses, plus my education (including a Masters in Organisation Development and Executive coaching qualification), professional development and spell as a Personal Trainer, has prepared me for this venture, Pi People. I work as an individual coach and consultant, as an associate with other organisations and with other individual consultants to deliver well considered, well informed solutions and services which are grounded in integrity and quality.
I have the privilege of working with Layla Coe.
Layla works alongside business and HR leaders as a trusted thinking and delivery partner, providing support and expertise in organisation design, development and change. She advocates a high engagement approach to change on the basis that people will stand beside what they have co-created.
While Layla works in a variety of contexts, she particularly enjoys supporting teams along their journey to high performance. In her role as a coach she encourages teams to collectively attend to the needs of their stakeholders and helps them find ways to be at their best when they are teaming together and apart.
Alongside her experience of delivering people and culture initiatives in a range of organisations, Layla draws on her professional education including an MA in Human Resource Management, certificate in Systemic Team Coaching and further exploration of Group Facilitation with the Gestalt Centre. Layla is a chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development
